WOODINGS GUNS & DRILLS SENT TO SERBIA MILL
Hot on the heels of a successful installation of equipment for its Blast furnace rebuild, a large Serbian steel producer has once again called on Woodings Industrial for new equipment for the steelmaker's second Blast Furnace.
In early August of this year Woodings shipped a fully hydraulic gun and drill which will provide the steelmaker with the capability of a fully automated plugging and tapping system. More predictable results, improved safety, reduced labor cost and greater efficiency are among the primary benefits of this new equipment.
Designed, engineered and manufactured by Woodings, the gun is built for a 280 BAR hydraulic operating pressure, a nozzle pressure of 200 BAR, and features a high-performance hydraulic system with PLC control.
The drill, also designed and manufactured by Woodings, incorporates a fully hydraulic drifter that is configured in a unique housing assembly. The Woodings all-hydraulic rotary percussion hammer is the strongest and most compact hammer available for blast furnace taphole operation.
Stated President Rob Woodings, “Receiving back-to-back projects from this producer makes a strong statement about Woodings' capability to design and develop innovative equipment that helps producers go to the next level in terms of safety, productivity, reliability and efficiency.”
