Woodings Industrial Answers Steel Producer's Urgent Need for Innovative Burden Probes

(July 23, 2004) In this day and age, customers expect suppliers to provide snappy turnaround on production. But getting a state-of-the-art above burden probe designed, manufactured and delivered in less then two weeks is considered lightning quick by any standard.

Woodings Industrial Corporation recently accomplished this feat in answer to a request by a major Indiana steelmaking facility for two above burden probes for the steel producer's blast furnace. One of those probes needed to be delivered in 4 weeks, the other in just two short weeks. The Woodings design team went to work and both probes were delivered as promised.

In addition to fast turnaround, Woodings also answered the need for valve performance. Both Woodings probes feature a water-cooled design that offers significant performance improvement over nitrogen-cooled and steam-cooled probes.

Woodings produced the above burden probes as the exclusive North American licensee for VAI-Davy, the world leader in metals technology.

“This project was an excellent example of our people's total focus and get-it-done approach to customer service”, said President Robert T. Woodings. “To produce and deliver a component in a two-week time frame speaks volumes about this group's determination to do whatever is necessary to answer customer needs.”
