WOODINGS AFFILIATE ACQUIRES, RENAMES JG INDUSTRIES
(February 10, 2006) --- An affiliate of Woodings Industrial Corporation announced today that it has acquired the shop assets of the former JG Industries (also known as Atherton Industries), a major supplier of refractory services for the steelmaking industry.
The 18,000 square foot, Carnegie, PA based manufacturing facility will operate as Advanced Refractory Technologies, LLC. The company will produce custom formed refractory components for the hot metals industry while continuing to supply other users of refractory product in the market.
Advanced Refractory Technologies will honor the distribution agreements that JG Industries had with refractory suppliers such as Harbison-Walker and will focus on expanding market opportunities to grow the business.
“This acquisition made perfect sense for us,” stated Rob Woodings. “We have been a major customer of the company for some time. With production now under our operation, we will be able to add to the quality of our sourcing, improve our turnaround time and provide greater control of the entire process.”
