WOODINGS BUSTS HUMP TO MEET DELIVERY DATE
(February 10, 2006)—In the industrial marketplace price may rule the day, but that doesn’t mean that bend-over-backwards service is a thing of the past. In fact, in the case of Woodings Industrial, fast service is standard operating procedure.
Woodings’ ability to get things done was recently manifest in the manufacture and delivery of nine combustion valves for the U.S. Steel-Gary Works #14 furnace project.
U.S. Steel ordered nine lever-type valves as replacements. Woodings designed, engineered, built and delivered the first three valves in six short weeks. The remaining valves shipped four weeks later. The new valves have air cylinder operators and incorporate an improved internal linkage design that is stronger and provides longer operating life.
“Our ability to go from scratch to design, engineering and build in a matter of weeks speaks volumes about our approach to meeting our customers’ requirements. If there is a way to get it done, we’ll do it,” said Rob Woodings, president of Wooding Industrial Corporation.
